What to see and do at Horsted Keynes station
Welcome to Horsted Keynes Station, built in by the London Brighton and South Coast Railway, it was a large junction station in the 1930s, with a line branching off to Haywards Heath via Ardingly. Now restored to the Southern Railway period of the mid 1920s, this station is particularly popular with film and television companies, and used as filming location for Downton Abbey, The Woman in Black and Muppets Most Wanted. From visiting the award-winning Carriage and Wagon department, to having a browse in the Carriage Shop and Carriage Gallery there is something for everyone of all ages.

Getting to Horsted Keynes
Horsted Keynes Station (RH17 7BB) is a mile and a half north-west of the village. From the village centre follow signs to the station, forking right onto the West Hoathly/Sharpthorne road. Station Approach will be found on the left after about a mile, just after a steep hill and sharp right hand bend.
Station car park
There is a hard surface car park, with parking for about 30 cars. An additional, adjacent field is available for parking in summer, with space for up to 100 cars.

How to get tickets?
It is advisable to book day tickets in advance and for special events it is required. There are single & rover tickets available on the day, but there is a discount when purchasing in advance.

Food & drink at the station
The King George V Buffet – a charming waiting room serving tea, coffee and snacks. You can visit the buffet with a ticket to travel or a platform-only admission ticket.
Shops at the station
Located on platform 1 is the Carriage Shop selling pre-loved railway and transport books, photographs, models, DVDs, magazines, and other collectibles. All proceeds go towards funding projects at the railway.
Are there disabled toilets & baby changing facilities?
The station has disabled toilet facilities. Baby changing facilities are available in the Ladies cloakroom on platform 5.
Accessibility at the station
At the midpoint on the railway, the toilet facilities all date from the 1880s, and are spacious but otherwise not converted. Being based around old railway coaches, the various exhibitions and shop on Platform 1 are not wheelchair accessible, but the new carriage exhibition is. The shop and buffet on platforms 3-4 are small but none-the-less are at platform level, as is part of the public viewing area in the carriage workshops at the south of platform 5.
